There are several items your wardrobe can never have enough of: jeans, black polo neck sweaters, white shirts, basic tees, leather jackets, blazers and black boots. Each Christmas I ask my other half to invest in one of the aforementioned for me – if I haven’t already topped up earlier in the year…

I’ve collected my fair share of leather jackets from designers such as Belstaff, Acne and Theory, but for the last few seasons, my bikers have been hanging patiently in the wings, over-shadowed by the statement coat.

Well, the gloves are now off and the biker is fighting back! Witness its resurgence in both high street and designer stores. Fancy something classic, clean cut, elegant, butter-soft and feminine? Look no further than the ‘Tyler’ from SET. At just £369, this beauty comes in a kaleidoscopic range of colours including black, navy, khaki, pink, red and even a yellow that brightens up the greyest of winter days.

For a more modern look, try the Ezra in black or bright blue from Danish brand, Gestuz. Longer line, a little over-sized with a convenient padded gilet underneath, this jacket looks the business dressed down with jeans and layered with a graphic tee-shirt from Zoe Karssen and a plaid shirt from Rails. It’s a steal too at just £349!

On a budget, you could do worse than a trip to Zara, where you can pick up a classic at just £99 or, feeling flush, you could splash out on a shearling-lined ‘Velocite’ from Acne Studios at an eye-watering £2100.

Whatever your taste, get on your bike and get a biker!
