Faye Scragg, Solicitor at Hargreaves Gilman

Located in Didsbury, Hargreaves Gilman Solicitors specialises in wills, powers of attorney, probate, estate administration, residential property purchases, sales, remortgages and transfers of equity. Hargreaves Gilman celebrated its 21st year in practice at the end of 2023 and saw out the year with the appointment of residential property solicitor Faye Scragg.

Which area of law do you specialise in?

I specialise in residential property transactions. This includes sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, and first registrations of residential properties, whether they are apartments, maisonettes or houses.  I act for clients from varying socio-economic groups, including many high-net-worth individuals and companies.  I have acted for numerous first-time buyers (sometimes with help from the bank of mum and Dad and ISA bonuses), investors and people buying their forever dream home.

Why are you so passionate about residential conveyancing?

I have been dealing with residential property transactions for 17 years, acting for clients throughout England and Wales. I enjoy guiding clients through the legal process in a way which does not result in them being overwhelmed with legal jargon, as well as coming up with solutions to any problems which may arise during a transaction. There is no greater feeling than letting a client know they can collect the keys to their new home.

What level of service do you offer?

I am keen to ensure my clients have a direct line of communication with me, even outside our normal office hours of nine to five.  When clients instruct me they receive my email address, direct landline number and my mobile telephone number.  I am happy to receive WhatsApp messages.  I am approachable and I pull out all the stops to allow transactions to progress smoothly.
