Sunday 19th June sees the welcome return of the popular community event Didsbury Open Gardens. Over twenty gardens, private and public, will open to visitors from 11.30am to 5.30pm.
All of the proceeds from programme sales and teas and cakes will go to local charities, with the main charity being St Ann’s Hospice. Tickets/programmes, which allow entry to all of the gardens, are just £5 and will be on sale from early May at the Cheese Hamlet in Didsbury Village and at Fusion Deli on Lapwing Lane.
Besides showing their gardens at their best, some hosts will be displaying art works as part of the Arts Trail and will offer refreshments too. There might even be live music and a teddy bear’s picnic!
Over the past twelve years, this bi-annual event has become a much-loved landmark of early summer and, thanks to the support of thousands of local people, has raised over £100,000 for charity.
An event not to be missed!
