Wilmslow-based luxury property developer, Huntsmere, has won gold at the What House? awards in the highly coveted Best Luxury House category. This is the developer’s second gold award in this category.

Of the sixty-seven awards handed out at the glittering awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor Hotel back in November, only seven went to individual properties or developments outside the south of England. The other winners in the Best House category were in the Surrey and Buckinghamshire.

Huntsmere received the accolade for a spectacular 11,000 square foot property in Alderley Edge, built for a private buyer.

In the Best Luxury House category, the panel of judges were looking for a ‘one-off bespoke house that has everything – and a little bit more, that twist that lifts it above its peers. Luxury and quality, but value for money in an exalted price range.’

Huntsmere’s entry delivered every element of the brief and was described in the judges’ report as ‘a home with plenty of personality’.  Set within parkland landscaping, the house is laid out over seven split levels. Designed with entertaining in mind, visitors to the property are welcomed into a truly impressive entrance hall with an 11m high ceiling.

Other features include a ‘party room’ complete with 105” curved television, a professionally equipped bar and full DJ deck. The leisure suite includes an indoor pool, fully equipped gym, steam room and experience shower.

The property has six bedroom suites. In conclusion, the judges said: “This home is light, bright and finished by Huntsmere to near perfection. The design displays a lightness of touch and an underlying mastery of the use of space across its many different levels.”

The interior design of the property was undertaken and managed by Hunter & Belle, Huntsmere’s interior design arm.

Since founding Huntsmere, Chris Oakes has established himself as the go-to developer for ultra high-end property in the south Manchester areas of Alderley Edge, Prestbury and Wilmslow, delivering over £150m worth of luxury homes, £80m of which are in Alderley Edge alone.

The company’s development pipeline is also impressive, worth £70m over the next couple of years.

“We were delighted to bring yet another gold What House? award back to Cheshire. Our properties stand shoulder to shoulder with the best homes in the country. The award recognises our outstanding capability in the luxury housing market and bears testament to the team’s expertise and unstinting attention to detail.”Oakes, Managing Director of Huntsmere

Since its formation, Huntsmere has won a total of seven What House? awards along with three Northern Design Awards and a UK Residential Property Award.
