Manchester original, The Alchemist, will be launching its fresh new menu following the extensive renovation of its Spinningfields flagship.

The vibrant new menu is designed to celebrate the sustainable efforts of the brand and tailored to a variety of dietary requirements. The new menu is now 58% vegetarian, 38% gluten free and 44% vegan.

The new food offering is revealed as The Alchemist leads its Manchester homecoming with a refined refurbishment of its original venue, The Alchemist Spinningfields. Today (Tuesday 29th March) the transformation will unveil a new era for the brand concept story, which will be told through the new-look interiors and menus. A significant evolution for The Alchemist, having journeyed through creative alchemy, and potions with its molecular mixology style, The Alchemist Spinningfields is the first destination to reveal the original alchemists’ new style, featuring futuristic, divine influences from astrology and the cosmos.

A collaboration with Meatless Farm, means anyone from meat-eaters to flexitarians, vegetarians to vegans will be impressed with the extensive array of tasty plant-based options. Bursting with flavour, and that all-important umami, crispy shredded plant-based duck bao buns are the perfect light accompaniment to a cocktail or two, served with vegan miso mayo, spring onions, cucumber, and fresh chilli. There is no compromise when it comes to hearty plant-based offerings.

Steering the new menu is a selection of Asian-fusion classics. In true Alchemist style, the new Yakitori Grill brings theatre and magic to the table. With Chilli BBQ Chicken Skewers served with shishito peppers and kimchi slaw. Spinning a twist on dessert, enjoy Yakatori caramelised pineapple on the grill served with a pumpkin seed snap, pina colada foam and rum syrup.

Decadent desserts also experiment with exciting Asian-fusion flavours. Take for example the classic Millionaire’s Brownie, an elegant chocolate brownie with sweet and salty miso served with vanilla ice cream, biscoff crumb and an Alchemist chocolate coin.

This new-look menu is a response to the progressive shift to a more ethical way of dining. Culinary Director, Seamus O’Donnell, notes:

“We’ve really tuned into our guests and team members’ feedback and have worked our food offering to bring it even further in line with the sustainable efforts of the brand. We understand that many people have dietary requirements and are choosing a more Flexitarian lifestyle. Our menu is now sitting at 58% vegetarian and 44% plant based.”

While responding to new approaches to dining, The Alchemist continues to serve up great flavours with theatre as O’Donnell explains:

“Of course, theatre hasn’t been compromised with locally sourced seasonal fish from the coast of Scotland used in our electric-pink trout and the addition of our Yakitori grills, enhancing the magic at the table. We try to keep a sense of play at the forefront of our menus so doing that sustainably has been a great challenge and we’re proud to see it pay off.”

The Alchemist Spinningfields new menu will be available from Tuesday 29th March.
