Speaking on her involvement with the awards show that is very close to her heart Jenny gushed: “I am so proud and delighted to be part of TIMA and all it stands for. Manchester has a dynamic that I haven’t experienced anywhere else in the world , it has an energy , a warmth , a unique culture and huge resilience and creativity .. It’s all about the people and I can’t wait to celebrate with those people and their businesses who have helped the city become one of the most loved and admired on a global scale. It’s an honour to be a part of TIMA once again!”

The northern founded now global brand Couture Club will be acting as headline brand partners who’s mission statement “join the club” both resonated and aligned with the ethos and DNA of This is Manchester.

Managing director of Couture Club Scott Shashua spoke on his desire to participate in the awards for sometime:

“TIMA is something I have wanted to be involved in for a long time. It represents everything I believe we should all be doing more off, celebrating, and giving back to the wonderful city of Manchester. It’s exciting for us all to help put on a special event at a time of year where we should all be going out and enjoying ourselves, unfortunately this hasn’t been easy the last couple of years and so it’s all the more reason to get behind this year’s event and raise some money for a special cause! The Couture Club will work tirelessly to make this event a show stopper.”

The ‘This Is Manchester Awards’ will celebrate people and businesses from across the city when it returns to entertain physical audiences again in the Hilton Hotel in Deansgate on November 3rd. The awards originally debuted in 2018 which saw the cities talent and personalities coming together for a starry night. This Is Manchester more than cemented it’s mark as the landmark awards across for the City.

This Awards this year will once again be supporting Hide Out Youth Zone as official charity partner. Having opened their doors during the most difficult of circumstances at the height of the pandemic, HideOut now has over 4500 members and continues to offer young people across Greater Manchester with somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. HideOut is part of the Onside Youth Zones development who believe in helping young people to broaden their horizon, raise their aspirations by motivating & empowering our next generation talent to achieve their desired full potential.

CEO Adam Farricker said; “ We are grateful to everyone across This Is Manchester for their continued support as one of many founder patrons. Their commitment has enabled us to adapt and remain agile when supporting our most vulnerable children and young people, during what has been an extremely difficult few years for everyone. We are looking forward to celebrating Manchester’s achievements @ TIMA 2022.”

We want to take everything we’ve learned from our previous live events and come back bigger, braver and bolder. After enduring nearly 2 years of lockdown and being a city that thrives from live entertainment and socialising – We can all agree that Manchester deserves a big party right? This is Manchester stands for everyone and we want everybody back and celebrating with us. Which is why we have a diversified and modern entry list with categories representing our rich heritage and DNA, something for EVERYone.

This Is Manchester founder, Ziara Siddique, director at Elite Profile Agency, announced: “Live events are definitely back for 2022. It feels good to be able to recognise the regions talent & what Manchester stand for across our night time economy, sport, fashion, music & entertainment, community, technology, and ofcourse our every evolving skyline, and not forgetting the amazing individuals, and organisations who have made such a huge difference not just here in Manchester, but also further afield. Manchester is the third best city globally, and we’re here to shine a light on it all. I’m particularly excited to welcome Scott Thomas who has one of the biggest hearts, and an infectious zest for life. I cannot wait for us all to experience the wonderful magic and charisma of both Jenny & Scott @ This Is Manchester. I’m also incredibly proud, and delighted to welcome The Couture Club as our leading headline branding partners. Scott Shashua and Ross Worwick are two exceptionally talented entrepreneurs who I like to call friends. The Couture Club is an vibrant & energetic brand doing great things globally, and we are honoured to have them sitting alongside us @ This Is Manchester.”

One of the many beautiful things about northern talent is its sheer unknowability, it is a scene that thrives on the rare, obscure and undiscovered. That is why it would be redundant of us to only celebrate and acknowledge the big names. We of course want people to put forward the obvious but we encourage YOU to have your say and nominate those who may not be popular yet but well deserve to be in the spotlight.

Once again, in true This Is Manchester spirit, the awards will also be acknowledging a real life superhero with the Manchester Supernova Award. This award represents someone who has truly gone above and beyond for the greater good of others. Previous recipients include; John Roberts- CEO of AO.COM & Chairman of Onside Youth Zones. Fred Done, and more recently, Marcus Rashford for his contributions in supporting children & young people in ending child hunger.

The nominations are open until Wednesday 31st August, following which there will be a period of reflection for the judges with a published shortlist due later.
