At the heart of East Didsbury sits The Dental Article. Opened in June 2025 by founder and lead clinician Dr Barzy Jaza, the clinic is a world away from the look and feel of conventional dentistry. Designed personally by Barzy from the ground up, with pieces by Cattelan Italia, Sovet Italia and Mogg, the space is as considered as the care delivered inside it. As he puts it, “art is part of what we do here.”

With almost a decade in the field, Dr Barzy’s expertise stems from both direct practice and formal education. Graduating with an integrated Master’s in dentistry before pursuing a postgraduate diploma in porcelain veneers, cosmetic dentistry has long been his passion. “There’s something about the life-changing nature of this work that I can’t find anywhere else,” he expresses.
His creative background, having once considered a career in architectural design, is something he says “never left” him. Clinical precision and aesthetic eye are simpatico. “It shapes everything: how I approach my work, the clinic itself.”
Founding The Dental Article after a stretch in the private sector, Dr Barzy had seen beyond the limitations of common dentistry. “I wanted to build something entirely on my own terms, to my standard, with no compromise.” His experience taught him not just what produces great results, but what makes them maintainable. Garnering a loyal client base in the 12 months since opening, his mission to treat every patient as the complete article is reflected in the clinic’s very name. “It’s the same perfectionism that drove me to open this place that drives every case I take on. Nothing is overlooked, nothing is rushed.”
Cosmetic offering
The Dental Article’s cosmetic offering is as aspirational as its results, replete with state-of-the-art equipment and utilised by a small team of specialists Dr Barzy collaborates with daily. A particular area of specialism is the clinic’s bespoke porcelain veneer process, in which patients wear their new smile in real life for up to a week before returning to the chair, refining it together until it is exactly right.
Approaching every case holistically, slow and considered facial planning is central to Dr Barzy’s method. “I don’t plan a smile in isolation. I look at the whole face, from proportions to features, and design treatment around that full picture.” By putting autonomy back in the patient’s hands, The Dental Article lessens the overwhelm associated with clinical environments, instead creating space for open conversation.
