London is a city that begs to be explored, and finding the right base makes all the difference. The DoubleTree Hilton London Victoria offers just that – a central, comfortable spot that combines convenience with a touch of warmth and character.

The location really couldn’t be better. Sitting right next to Victoria Station, the hotel provides seamless access to the Gatwick Express and London Underground, making it simple to zip across the city or head straight to the airport. Step outside and you’ll find some of London’s most famous landmarks within walking distance. Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and the London Eye are all close enough to stroll to, while Soho, Trafalgar Square, and the shops of Oxford Street are just a short ride away. Theatre lovers will also appreciate that The Apollo Victoria Theatre is a two-minute walk, ideal if you’re catching a West End show.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome felt special. Check-in comes with the Hilton signature warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie, and while it might seem a small touch, it’s surprisingly memorable – a sweet little ritual that instantly makes you feel at ease. We stayed in one of the King Duplex Suites, which was the perfect retreat after busy days exploring the city.

Spread across two floors, the suite manages to feel both stylish and homely. Downstairs, the bedroom has a plush king-sized bed that guarantees a restful night, while the living space upstairs offers a sofa bed and plenty of room to stretch out, and a desk and office chair, for any work you need to do. There are thoughtful touches everywhere – from an espresso machine to Crabtree & Evelyn amenities – and the décor strikes the right balance between modern and inviting. It’s a space designed to let you switch off, whether you’re travelling as a couple, a family, or even for work. Some suites even offer skyline views, adding to that sense of London magic.

Food and drink is another strong point. The hotel’s Terminus Kitchen & Bar has a relaxed, contemporary feel, serving up a mix of globally inspired dishes. We opted for a selection of tapas and a couple of glasses of crisp white wine, which was the perfect way to unwind. The menu is varied enough to suit different moods, from small plates to heartier mains like lamb rack and octopus. Breakfast is also generous, with plenty of options to set you up for a full day of sightseeing or meetings. And for those who prefer a quieter night in, 24-hour room service has you covered.

What truly makes the DoubleTree by Hilton London – Victoria stand out, though, is the staff. Every interaction, from the reception team to the restaurant servers, felt genuine. They were attentive without being overbearing, and always eager to help. It’s clear that the team here takes pride in what they do, and that positive energy filters through the whole hotel experience.

On the outside, the building doesn’t quite hint at the stylish, welcoming interiors you’ll find within – which almost makes it feel like a hidden gem. Step through the doors, and you’ll discover a hotel that combines convenience, comfort, and personality in equal measure. For us, it was exactly what we needed: a place that let us explore London with ease and relax in real comfort at the end of the day. We’d return in a heartbeat and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
