We all like to get out of bed and wear a comfortable outfit which isn’t necessarily the smartest or makes us look the best. But the reason we do this is to feel comfortable and not have to make an effort. However, sometimes it’s nice to be the total opposite of that. So sometimes it’s nice to get out of bed and dress your best to impress.
There is a lot that can be said about dressing well. Dressing up in a nice outfit can help make you feel more comfortable in your appearance, give you a confidence boost and it starts the day in a really positive way – just like making the bed in the morning!
So one day this week, get your best boho dresses, and a nice pair of shoes and wear your best jewellery and feel great while you do it. Below are three tips for dressing up stylishly when you want to dress your best to impress.
Keep it simple
Keeping it simple is often the best way in life and can be applied to many things – your home interiors, playing sports, painting pictures and in this case dressing yourself. When trying to impress, don’t overcomplicate things as simplicity is beautiful. You don’t need to wear too many layers and you don’t need to overcomplicate your accessories – although accessories are great when dressing nicely.
Consider your accessories
The last paragraph leads nicely to this one, consider the accessories that you are going to wear. When dressing nicely, it’s important you accessorise your outfit. Wear a nice watch, a nice bracelet, a ring, earrings and a belt if required. Don’t over-accessorise as, as mentioned above it’s good to keep things simple. If you need some inspiration, social media channels like Instagram or Tiktok are a great way to see how other people are accessorising their outfits.
Colour is your friend
Using colour to improve your appearance can be very effective. Colour adds a new dynamic and can add emotion to what you are wearing. Bright colours like yellow or blue promote happiness, whereas red and orange are bold and powerful colours. Try not to wear too many colours at the same time as they can clash, but certain colours go well together like blue and grey or red and black. If you are unsure of what colours will go well, you can look at a colour wheel online. Alternatively, when getting ready, don’t be afraid to Facetime a friend or family member to ask their opinion on the outfit you are wearing. Often a loved one’s opinion can be very helpful as they will be honest.
There are so many ways to dress to impress, all of which will help you feel more comfortable in your skin. What tips would you suggest to help someone dress their best? Which of the above tips did you find most useful? Is there anything we have missed that you think we should have included? Let us know in the comment box below. We would love to hear from you.
