If you’re looking to elevate your weekend plans, quite literally, then brunch at Cloud 23 is well worth adding to your Manchester must-visit list.
Perched on the 23rd floor of The Manchester Deansgate Hotel by IHG, this iconic sky bar pairs spectacular panoramic views with a relaxed brunch experience that’s ideal for catching up with friends, celebrating a special occasion or simply taking a break after a morning exploring the city.
Available every Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 2pm, Cloud 23’s brunch menu offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional afternoon tea. Instead of finger sandwiches and scones, guests choose three sharing platters designed for groups of two or three. It’s a sociable way to dine, although you’ll all need to agree on the same selection!
We opted for the Greek Mezze, Indian Tiffin and Wingstop platters, before upgrading to the Premium Brunch, which included 90 minutes of Champagne. On a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon, there really couldn’t have been a better setting. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed sweeping views across Manchester’s ever-changing skyline, with landmarks stretching as far as the eye could see. Watching the city bustle below while enjoying a leisurely brunch made us appreciate just how far Manchester has come.
The food was every bit as impressive as the setting. The Indian Tiffin delivered a wonderful combination of crisp samosas, flavour-packed bhajis, crunchy poppadoms and an assortment of vibrant chutneys that were perfect for dipping. The Greek Mezze was wonderfully fresh, with creamy hummus, tangy tzatziki, crisp salad, warm pitta and flavoursome Kalamata olives creating a light yet satisfying plate. Meanwhile, the Wingstop platter proved impossible to resist, with succulent chicken wings coated in lemon, black pepper and Parmesan, served alongside a creamy ranch dip that had us reaching for just one more.
Whether you’re planning a day of shopping, showing visitors around Manchester or simply looking for somewhere special to while away a weekend afternoon, Cloud 23 offers the perfect excuse to slow down and soak up the view. Stylish yet relaxed, with delicious food, flowing Champagne and one of the best vantage points in the city, it’s a brunch experience that’s every bit as memorable as the skyline itself.
