Sometimes the wardrobe gets blamed when, really, it’s just minding, not really that big of a problem, though. Like, sure, there are clothes in there. Plenty of clothes, actually. You’ve got the tops, jeans, jumpers, dresses, that one jacket that was meant to make everything look pulled together, and yet somehow every outfit still feels a bit… tired.
So then the bed becomes a clothing graveyard, half the wardrobe is out, nothing feels right, and the conclusion is apparently, “Great, need new clothes.” Which, okay, maybe. But really? Should you just be putting clothes in the landfill that you used to love because you’re just having a bad day today? Are you just taking fashion a little too seriously? Bluntly put, your clothes probably aren’t the problem. Well, not the full problem at least.
Maybe they’re just being styled the exact same way every single time, and even the nicest jumper can only do so much when it’s paired with the same hair, same glasses, same earrings, same rushed “this’ll do” face, which gets old really fast.
Clothes aren’t the Only Thing People See
People notice the whole look, not just the outfit. Yeah, like everything here, including the hair, glasses, brows, skin, lip colour, jewellery, all of that is doing work, or in some cases, absolutely refusing to do any work at all.
So, a plain outfit can look completely different when the face-framing bits have had even a tiny bit of attention. But maybe a warmer lip colour, brushed brows, cleaner lenses, earrings that weren’t picked in 0.4 seconds, hair that looks slightly intentional, then, fairly instantly, here you can pretty much bet that the same clothes don’t feel quite so flat.
Do You Wear Glasses?
The reason this is being brought up is that it’s a big point of it. Like the Bayonetta glasses are trendy right now because of the Office Siren aesthetic, in the early 2010s, those whole “nerdy glasses” were a thing because of the geek pop culture trends at the time. Wired glasses were in at one point, too.
But the point is, if you wear glasses, well, maybe you look outdated, and you’re not keeping up with trends. You could easily take care of that by going to the Sapphire Optics website and looking around for some newer, ideally trendier glasses that can go with some of your outfits. Plus, you can honestly style glasses with outfits pretty easily.
Hair Can Make or Ruin the Whole Thing
Which might be obvious here. But yeah, sure, by all means, it can be agreed that hair is annoying like that. It has far too much power. Like, a basic outfit with good hair can look easy and pulled together, while the exact same outfit with tired hair can look like the day won before it even started.
That doesn’t mean a major cut, colour, or salon moment is needed. But sure, go for that if you want, honestly, you can’t go wrong with that, granted, all of those things can be a bit expensive though. But instead, just sometimes it’s just a better parting, a fringe trim, a claw clip that looks chosen on purpose (like those cute ones with the bows), softer waves, or ends that don’t look like they’ve been begging for help since last winter.
