Skyline Views, Standout Food and Seriously Fluffy Robes
If you’re looking for a central London stay that blends style with substance, Montcalm Royal London House ticks all the boxes. Located just off Finsbury Square, with Shoreditch and the City on your doorstep, it’s perfectly placed for weekend getaways, work trips or a little bit of both.

Rooms are modern, elegant, and all about atmosphere. With adjustable mood lighting, ultra-comfy beds and the fluffiest robes we’ve worn in a while, it’s made for winding down in style.

Dinner at the hotel’s rooftop hotspot, Aviary, is a must. We tucked into perfectly cooked sirloin steak and stone bass, paired with cocktails that were as good as the skyline views. The rooftop buzz is unbeatable, and the drinks list more than lives up to the setting.

Breakfast was just as impressive – delicious, beautifully presented and served in a calm, elegant setting. Coffee lovers, you’re in good hands here.

There’s also a beautiful, updated urban spa that’s ideal for post-shopping recovery or pre-dinner pampering. We didn’t try a treatment this time, but the space itself was blissfully serene.

Staff were warm, welcoming and went the extra mile – from reception to rooftop. The manager even made a point of greeting us on arrival, which added a personal touch to an already standout stay.
Would we recommend? Absolutely. For a stylish London escape with great food, great vibes and a location that puts you right at the heart of the action, Montcalm more than delivers.
