A brand new community choir will be making its debut next month. Didsbury Singers present their first-ever concert, entitled “Introducing…”, on Tuesday July 1st at Unitarian Church, Chorlton.

The choir, which has had just eight rehearsals, will be showcasing an uplifting & eclectic programme including a song by Billie Eilish, a Spanish tune called Cantar! and Canadian composer Sarah Quartel’s How Can I Keep From Singing.

Founded in April, Didsbury Singers is a new vocal group for local singers who love to sing together. Under the direction of acclaimed conductor and vocal coach Hannah Brine, the choir is a vibrant & ambitious ensemble for upper voices.

Hannah Brine, whose previous choirs have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican and Royal Variety Show, brings her signature blend of musical excellence and inclusive leadership to this exciting new project.

Hannah says: “I am so pleased to have started this choir – we make a brilliant sound together and it’s a great community of people. I am proud to be able to share such a wonderful programme in our forthcoming debut concert. Anyone interested in joining the choir is welcome, and its a chance for our members to celebrate their first milestone.”

One of the founder members, Sarah, says: “I saw a flyer in a bakery about a new choir and, intrigued, I signed up for a taster session.  I was a bit apprehensive about whether it would be ‘my thing’ at first,  having only sung in a choir as a child many ago, however I can honestly say I am loving every minute of my time with Didsbury Singers. The choir has a hard working but friendly vibe, with Hannah’s enthusiasm and experience leading the way.”

Tickets are priced between £5 – £10 and can be purchased from: https://didsburysingers.uk/shop/introducing/
