Convenience is a beautiful thing

Page8 London: Boutique Bliss in the Heart of the City

Tucked discreetly between the iconic buzz of Trafalgar Square and the fashion-forward charm of Covent Garden, Page8 London offers a refreshingly refined take on city stays. Set in a prime St. Martin’s Place location, this lifestyle boutique hotel combines quiet elegance with enviable access to the capital’s best shopping, dining, and culture.

With 138 thoughtfully designed rooms, Page8 delivers both comfort and style in equal measure. Think: bronzed accents, marble finishes, and interiors that are modern yet intimate. Our stay on the fifth floor in a Superior Double Street View room was effortlessly indulgent, complete with blackout curtains, double-glazing, and Blueair purifiers for a genuinely restorative night’s sleep.

Details matter here – from the Appelles apothecary-style toiletries to the retro-inspired touches like vintage rotary telephones, Marshall radios, and a well-stocked minibar featuring generous complimentary treats. The room’s airy brightness and sweeping city views were the cherry on top.

A lounge that lives up to its name

The communal heart of the hotel is Page COMMON – a hybrid coffee house, bar, and lounge space that redefines “hotel lobby.” The atmosphere is relaxed but considered: light woods, clean lines, tactile textiles, and an aesthetic that encourages you to settle in rather than rush off.

Whether you’re catching up on emails or your latest lifestyle read, the curated selection of independent travel books, glossy magazines, and artisan hand-drip coffees makes this an inspired corner to pause. My flat white was poured with care, and the Veggie Breakfast Brioche – with fried egg, avocado, and tomato relish – was generous, hearty, and sourced from the renowned Paul Rhodes Bakery in Greenwich.

It’s a space made for slow mornings and thoughtful afternoons.

Above it all: The Kitty Hawk experience

For a truly elevated escape, head to Kitty Hawk, the rooftop bar and restaurant perched above the hotel.

It’s the kind of place that feels like a secret. Whether you’re popping in for a pre-theatre dinner, weekend brunch, or signature cocktail at sunset, the experience is one of understated sophistication, backdropped by panoramic views over London’s storied skyline.

For the urban explorer in you

Page8 goes beyond the typical guidebook experience. Through its ‘London Explorer Series’, the hotel encourages guests to step off the beaten path. Their online journal is a treasure trove of hidden gems – from independent boutiques to edgy street art spots and under-the-radar neighbourhoods that let you experience the city like a stylish local.

The Verdict? An effortless, elegant city retreat

From the calm confidence of its interiors to its flawless location, Page8 strikes a balance between laid-back luxury and urban edge. Ideal for a spontaneous weekend, a theatre-filled city break, or a fab base for discovering London with family or friends in tow.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team, the barista-crafted coffees, and the sense of serenity that made us feel like we’d discovered one of London’s best-kept secrets.
