MGS is celebrating another year of excellent examination results for its Sixth Form pupils.

Giuseppe, who will study Biological Natural Sciences at St John’s College, studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. Alongside his academic achievements, he has been actively involved in music, performing as part of the MGS choir and the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain (NCCGB). He was also a Young Analyst Regional Winner and achieved Gold in the Biology Olympiad.

Having joined MGS in the Junior School, Ben studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Outside the classroom, he achieved his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, sailed as part of the RYA Youth Sailing Regional Team and is a Scout leader.

Viyom, who also joined MGS in the Junior School, studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and will study Physical Natural Sciences at Cambridge. His academic achievements include Gold in the British Physics Olympiad Round 1 and Silver in Round 2, as well as Gold in the Chemistry Olympiad. He was also a member of the Cambridge Chemistry Race Team, which finished fourth nationally.

The Manchester Grammar School is celebrating another year of outstanding A-level results for its Sixth Form pupils.

32% of all grades were at the highest A* level; 69% of grades were A*-A and 92% of grades were A*-B.  33 boys achieved three or more A* grades, and 108 achieved three or more A grades.

Oxford and Cambridge offered places to 23 of our boys; these are just two of the many Russell Group universities to which MGS boys will be heading this autumn. Others include Imperial, UCL, LSE, Durham, Warwick, York, KCL, Manchester, Nottingham and Leeds.

47 boys received offers to read Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science.

The High Master, Dr Martin Boulton, said, “This year’s results places The Manchester Grammar School in a very select number of schools nationally. I am absolutely delighted that the hard work and dedication of the pupils has been rewarded with excellent grades and that this will enable them to move on to study a diverse range of courses at leading universities. I would like to wish them every success as they take their next exciting steps in their academic journeys.”
