1. Frodsham and Sandstone Trail Circular
Along Cheshire’s elevated Sandstone Ridge is a trail stretching 34 miles, loved by ramblers, hikers, and moochers alike. Whilst there are many points of access along the route, we particularly enjoy this 8km stretch starting from Frodsham, where you’ll venture through hills, scenic farmland, and woody paths. It’s ideal for walking off a late lunch or tiring out your pooch.
2. The Cove Spa in Altrincham
Offering spa days, thermal therapy, and a plethora of personal treatments, The Cove Spa in Altrincham invites you for a moment of wellness. Situated at the heart of Beech Road – a cutesy, village-like street in South Manchester – you’ll find yourself in the perfect spot for some independent shopping, following a picturesque plate.
4. Fine Wine Tasting Experience at West Didsbury, 25th June 2026
On 25th June in West Didsbury, Reserve Wines is hosting a one-off tasting night. Starting at 6:30pm, the evening will open the floor for guided sipping, expert insights, and fine food pairings over the course of the evening. Offering a relaxed, social affair for groups or individuals, secure your space now for a foray into the vineyard-to-glass experience.
5. Alcohol Ink Painting Class in Altrincham
Whilst the art of alcohol painting is both abstract and experimental, in this 2-hour workshop, you’ll be guided by an expert teacher to create stunning canvases. Taking place one weekend per month in Dunham Massey, this beginner-friendly class is apt for anyone hoping to try a new medium, or craft some handmade decor with the family – ready to take home and frame.
6. Beers in the Garden in Manchester
The annual Beers in the Garden will take place from Friday 17th July to Sunday 19th July this year. Run by community gardening group MUD, the returning, family-friendly festival will feature drinks from local breweries, fit for pairing with food from the weekend’s many on-site vendors. Expect DJ sets soundtracking day-to-night dancing, set in the landscape of Platt Fields Market Garden.
7. Linden Stores in Knutsford
Where seasonal British food is matched with a shaken aperitif, Linden Stores is a date night must-try. Set in an intimate, oak-lined interior, located along one of Knutsford’s many quaint streets, the couple-founded restaurant excels in dishes that are comforting and made for sharing. Expect small plates, free pours, and a stellar bottle shop.
8. All The Shapes in Prestwich
Another worthy brunch offering is All The Shapes in Prestwich. Replete with a menu of wholesome toasts, weekend specials, and avocado-topped goodies, the cafe is a fitting gathering place for a morning out with the in-laws. If the sun is shining, there’s even a colourful garden for drinking coffee and catching up. And, of course, catching some rays.
9. Salut Wines in Manchester
Whilst situated centrally, Salut Wines presents a feeling of respite amongst the city’s hum. Offering over 50 wines by the glass, it’s a dreamy spot for an afternoon swill. With so many in for selection, from skin contact to classic reds, we’d recommend giving a few a sip. Or, book onto one of the bar’s popular wine tasting events for a broader scope, happening in June and July.
10. Stanage Edge in Hathersage
Whilst a hotspot for tourists, climbers, and outdoorsy folk, there remains an opportunity to catch a breath of fresh air and take in the scenery at Stanage Edge. Known for its iconic ridgeline and outstretched views of the Peak District, if you’ve not yet summited to the trig points of Hathersage, it’s a natural playground to spend a Sunday exploring.
