Summer will soon be with us, and when it does, this is when you will be spending a lot of time in your garden – whether alone, relaxing or hosting others. With this in mind, now is the best time to start making some changes to your garden for the better.
There are so many different things you can do to your garden to improve it. You could go down the route of having some Crazy Pavers put in or decking if you prefer that option. Making sure you repaint your fences and shed quickly gives a new lease of life to your garden, as well as installing tech when possible.
Below, we have put together our guide on three ways to change your garden for the better. Keep on reading for three simple tips that can make a big difference.
Decking
A good place to start is decking. If you don’t already have decking, it’s an affordable change which can really make a difference to your space. Decking creates a dedicated space where you can host your guests, dine outdoors, or simply relax. It helps to define the layout of your garden, making it feel more structured and purposeful. You can get decking in a range of colours, helping you match it to the overall feel of your garden, and it’s a fairly quick process to get it installed.
Outdoor lighting
Far too many people neglect lighting and its importance. Outdoor lighting instantly enhances both the atmosphere and functionality of your garden. You can use it to highlight key parts of your garden, such as your decking, as well as to highlight tree or plant areas. You can also use lighting to create a certain atmosphere when you are out there – whether it’s very dim or bright. The types of lights you can get for your garden vary hugely, with smart lights available, solar lighting available as well as string lights or spot lights.
Segmenting your garden
Something that can quickly make a difference, and is not too difficult to do, is to segment your garden. When we say segment, we mean break your garden up into different sections. These sections can vary depending on your interests, but you could have one area for sports, one area for plants and one area for hosting.
You can create separation using hedges, raised beds, fencing, pergolas, planters, pathways, or even changes in level or materials. These subtle dividers help each area feel distinct while still keeping the garden cohesive.
When the summer comes, it’s nice to have your garden ready to go, instead of making the changes then. Start today, and you can have your garden looking different in the coming months. What changes will you be making to your garden, and why will you be making these changes? Which of the above changes do you think makes the biggest difference? Is there a change we haven’t mentioned that you think we should have included? Let us know in the comment box below. We look forward to hearing from you.
