What Do You Need For A Good Day Out?

Whether you’re heading to the beach, hiking through the countryside, or just having a laid-back picnic in the park, there are a few essentials you’ll want to bring along to ensure your day out goes off without a hitch – read on to find out what kinds of things you’ll want to have with you for a really good day out.

Snacks

No matter where you’re going or what you’re doing, snacks are a must; you’ll definitely want to keep hunger at bay so you can really enjoy whatever it is you’re doing without getting distracted or, even worse, feeling unwell. Plus, snacks are great for keeping your energy up, so you’ll probably be able to do more if you have some snacks with you, making the day even better.

For a good snack, you’ll want to mix some healthy options, like nuts and dried fruit, with some treats, like chocolate, and then you’ll be covered no matter what you might need or what you might crave.

Hydration

Staying hydrated is possibly even more important than having snacks with you, although do try to do both if you can. In other words, make sure you bring plenty of water with you, preferably in a reusable bottle to keep things eco-friendly. If you want to change things up a bit and make the water more appealing, why not add some lemon or cucumber slices to make a really refreshing and delicious drink?

Remember that hydration isn’t just something you do because it tastes nice; it can stop you feeling unwell and getting a horrible headache, not to mention muscle aches and more, so you’ve got to drink enough.

First Aid Kit

Accidents can happen, even on the best days out, so it’s always a good idea to have a mini first aid kit on hand. You might want to pack bandaids for cuts and blisters, antiseptic wipes for cleaning wounds, and some basic pain relief like L484 tablets, for example. Before you choose your pain relief, check whether or not it could be addictive; L484 can be, so if you have substance abuse issues, it’s better to use something else.

Having these basics on hand can actually save the day and stop you from feeling unwell and having to cut things short. And if you’ve got a minor injury, being able to clean it and dress it while you’re out means you can see a healthcare professional when it’s convenient for you, assuming you need to (and it won’t always be necessary).

Comfortable Footwear

Nothing ruins a day out faster than sore feet, so make sure you wear shoes that are comfy and appropriate for whatever activity you’ve got planned. If you’re walking or hiking, a sturdy pair of trainers or hiking boots is ideal, but if you’re going to the beach, you’ll want flip flops or sandals, for example.

No matter what type of shoes you need, make sure they’re broken in and comfortable, otherwise you’re going to spend a lot of the day wishing you’d worn different shoes and regretting decisions you made before you left the house. At least if you’ve got a little first aid kit with you, you can deal with blisters, and that could be a big help if you’ve picked the wrong shoes.
