With Christmas fast approaching you may be looking for things to do to get you in the festive spirit. Here are a few suggestions for what you could get up to after simply checking train times to London and heading to the capital for a day or two!

Christmas Markets

England’s capital is home to a range of stunning Christmas markets including Winter Wonderland, Leicester Square Christmas Market and the South Bank Christmas Markets.

If you are looking for rides, games and shows then Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is the place to be! Here you will find a huge range of attractions, activities, entertainment, food and drinks that are suitable for the whole family, so kids are welcome too. 2022 marks the 15th year of Winter Wonderland and spots do fill up quickly so be sure to pre-book if you want to experience the ultimate Christmas destination in London!

In the heart of Theatreland, you will find Leicester Square Christmas Market which houses jaw-dropping 1920s shows, comedy and circus performers for you to enjoy, as well as a range of stalls selling hand-crafted goods (perfect for that last-minute bit of Christmas shopping!) as well as tasty food and drinks.

Visit the Ice Rink

During the Christmas period, you will find many an ice rink in London so don your skates and experience the most wonderful time of the year! With plenty of options to choose from you will be spoilt for choice, but a few favourites are Glide at Battersea Power Station which also has fairground rides for those who are too scared to get on the ice and Queen’s House which allows you to skate around Greenwich’s UNESCO World Heritage site.

Visit an Igloo

London has some great pop-ups over Christmas including Igloos all over the city. Willows On The Roof is an amazing rooftop experience where you will find igloos sat above John Lewis on Oxford Street, giving you views across central London. Over in Kensington, you will find private domes for up to 10 people where you can get cosy and spend a few hours wining and dining on stunning Tapas menus with your loved ones – a perfect way to celebrate the festive season!

Try an immersive experience

Step off the chilly streets of London and into a whole other world with one of the many festive and immersive experiences that the city has to offer.
