Saturday 29th August sees Come As You Are (CAYA) return for another unforgettable celebration of music, community and self-expression at Refuge, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.
The famous Manchester celebration of homegrown LGBTQIA+ talent and allies that this city knows and loves is in its tenth year and is set to be an iconic party. CAYA will be taking over the bar and the terrace at Refuge – one of the city’s grandest outdoor spaces to go dancing.
The Saturday will see Refuge’s terrace host Supernature Disco, bringing an infectious energy, inclusivity and feel-good spirit, an ideal soundtrack for CAYA’s tenth birthday celebrations.
Leading this year’s line-up is Joe Goddard, internationally acclaimed musician, producer and founding member of the Grammy Award-winning electronic band Hot Chip. Joe is known for acclaimed solo productions and DJ sets, and he has performed at some of the world’s most iconic festivals and clubs, from Glastonbury and Coachella to Panorama Bar and beyond.
His appearance at CAYA marks a standout moment in this year’s celebrations, bringing one of electronic music’s most respected artists to Refuge for an unforgettable headline set. From 3pm on the Saturday House of Gorgeous will be curating moments hourly in the bar. Some of the North West’s most inventive and unforgettable drag performers including Anna Phylactic and Liquorice Black, are set to light up the room with a riotous burst of high-camp theatricality and razor-sharp humour.
Rhea Leach, Head of Marketing, Kimpton Clock Tower Hotel said: “Refuge has been the proud home to CAYA for ten years, and it has become a big part of Refuge’s story. We can’t wait to celebrate the tenth anniversary of CAYA, with what promises to be an unforgettable night.”
Throughout the day, the Refuge Bar will play host to a carefully curated line-up of DJs who reflect the venue’s long-standing connection to Manchester’s vibrant music scene. The soundtrack will move effortlessly through disco, house and soulful grooves from midday until midnight, creating the perfect backdrop to the celebrations.
