Over 300 women gathered at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Friday, 8 May, raising an impressive £52,000 in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, a vital organisation providing free ‘home away from home’ accommodation and support for families with sick children in hospital.

It costs the Charity £35 per night to accommodate one family, so the funds raised are the equivalent of 1,486 nights of free, comfortable and supportive stays for families, just a ‘slipper walk’ away from their children’s bedside. Ronald McDonald Houses are strategically located near specialist NHS children’s hospitals throughout the UK, including the 65 ensuite bedroom Manchester House at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, significantly reducing both the emotional and financial strain on families during challenging times.

The fundraising event featured a stunning fashion show hosted by Manchester-based Moo Boutique and Vanilla Fudge Lingerie. Models included Miss Lancashire, Tabitha Bennett and fashion model Lola Wilson, along with numerous dedicated women who volunteered their time to walk the runway.
Guests enjoyed entertainment from saxophonist Amber Jordan and singer Franchesqua, with Johnny De M hosting the event. Renowned Manchester press photographer Mark Waugh captured the day’s highlights.
Anne Wainwright, Cheshire-based McDonald’s franchisee and trustee of Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled by the incredible generosity shown at this event. I’m immensely proud and grateful to everyone who came together to support this important cause. It’s truly heartwarming to see how community spirit and kindness can make such a significant impact.”
