One of the most fun ways to catch up and unwind with your friends is to plan a girls night out. Creating unforgettable memories with your closest friends is exciting and fun and it’s a good way to relax at the end of a busy week.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion for yourself or for a friend or you just want a night off, the key to a good girls night out is all in the organisation. Here are some tips to help you to have that amazing time you’ve been looking for and ensure that your night out is a total hit.
- Plan to catch the moments
How often do you get photos with your friends? Capturing hilarious, candid moments with your friends is a good way to remember those nights out together. Make sure that you have fun photos to look back on and go and buy some instant cameras so that you can take photos through the night. You can use your phone, and use apps for fun filters or effects like a face swap, but instant cameras and polaroids can give you something to hold onto for real. It will make your group photos stand out and it will give you a chance to remember your nights out with a smile.
- Plan a fun and unique activity
You need to choose an activity that goes beyond having a drink. There is nothing wrong with having a drink with friends but let’s mix it up a little! Plan a cocktail making class, or a wine tasting. Have an entire weekend at a vineyard and taste different wines and see how the wines are made. If you want to go out for a drink, add a karaoke bar to your trip. Go to a paint and sip studio, or sign up for a cooking class where you can drink wine as you cook. All of these ideas are a great way to have fun and you can still enjoy a tipple.
- Plan to coordinate the details
As an adult you’ll find that your friends are busy all the time so trying to find a night together where you are all away from kids and work is hard. Make a plan to coordinate the details with a fun group chat. This way everybody feels included in the decision making process, whether that’s choosing outfit themes or choosing a venue.
- Plan a good location
If you and your friends are scattered across the country, you want to make sure that everybody can get to the location and the venue of your night out with ease. Whether it’s a trendy bar or a fun restaurant, make sure that the venue is centrally located or at least within easy reach. If some of your friendship group have kids and they can’t travel across the country then make it convenient for them and you go to them if you can. This is part of that planning process so that everybody feels comfortable with the destination.
- Plan your outfits
This is an optional point but it’s definitely a fun one. You don’t necessarily have to coordinate outfits so that you are matching each other but you could also have a colour theme or you can agree to wear something glittery. If you’re not into matching that’s totally fine, but you could do a board night where you each bring a board full of goodies in a specific colour and then dress in that same colour. For example, if you’ve been assigned the green board, you could wear a green dress and have a board laden with green snacks and green drinks.
