With Glastonbury on the horizon. If you’re not one of the lucky ones heading down to Worthy Farm – you may be hosting a Glasto gathering at home?

As event planners, we often get asked to create a festival themed parties for clients, both private and corporate. We’ve hosted them at venues and private back gardens, for 20 guests through to 500.

So here’s a few tips from us – if you’re creating your own mini Glastonbury.

If you’re inviting guests to Glastonbury party , make sure you’re showing it on TV – maybe even hire an outdoor cinema screen – ensure the speakers are good!

Be prepared for the Great British weather – teepee style tents will create an authentic festival feel. If it rains or if it’s very sunny – shelter is a must

Loos – always a talking point of Glastonbury – if you don’t want guests wondering around your house – allocate a loo with clear signage or if you’re feeling ‘flush’ hire some Portaloos and keep it outdoors

Cocktail stations – make sure it’s easy to get a drink and create drink stations around the party. Be it cocktails or mocktails and obviously lots of water – especially if it’s hot and there’s dancing

Food – keep it simple and outdoors. Make it a bar-b-q

Somewhere to dance – create your own dancefloor.

Somewhere to chill out – beanbags are perfect for a festival feel

Dresscode – keep it casual and comfy – provide flipflops or wellies depending on the weather report!

Sustainable – be like Glastonbury and champion sustainability – make sure you’re providing paper and not plastic with easy to see recycling bins for guests.
