You’re about to set off for a wonderful week or two away in a sunny place with blue skies, plenty of ocean, and a beach you can’t wait to lounge on – amazing!
But before you head off, there is one small thing you’re a little bit concerned about: your skin.
You want to look your best on your next holiday, and you don’t want to have to put too much makeup on when it’s hot out and you might have a lot of sweat to deal with…
And because of that, there’s a few prep steps you should do at home whilst you’ve still got the time! Here’s a few to work into your routine over the next couple of weeks.
Hydrate for a Glow
Always the best thing to do, no matter the time of year or where you’re heading off to! But if you want to keep your skincare as lowkey as possible whilst you’re away, make sure you start getting used to fitting a bit more water into your daily routine.
A lot of people like to get 2 litre refillable bottles for this purpose, and feel free to do the same.
But even just making sure you hit 1 litre of water per day should be more than enough to help your skin feel more supple and soft, as well as give it a healthy glow when you haven’t got any foundation or concealer on!
Get Any Treatments Booked in at Least 2 Weeks Before
Booked in for a facial, or a spa day, or you want to get some filler applied to your lips? Make sure these treatments are all squared away at least 2 weeks before you’re due to fly or sail.
You don’t want to leave a treatment at a clinic like RejuvaMed until the last minute, as it’s not the best way to get the most out of the results you’re going for.
It’s also likely to be a lot more uncomfortable, especially if you’ve had a more invasive facial procedure applied and are now more at risk of UV damage.
Combine still-healing skin with more sun coverage throughout the day and you could come home with a bad sunburn that leaves you feeling far less glamorous than you were hoping!
Be Careful About Tanning
Tanning the skin should never be done without some kind of suncream applied beforehand.
Not only does this prevent the worst of the UV rays from working their way beneath the top skin layer, but it can also help the skin to hold off too much UV exposure. Just make sure you keep applying top-ups as the day goes on!
When it comes to your tan, that means coming back from your holiday with a lovely bit of bronzing – just with a lower risk of any skin issues from all that time spent on a sun lounger.
When you want your skin to glow for your holiday, get prepped with the tips above!
