Head down to Platt Fields Market Garden on Sunday 4th of May and join their annual May Day festivities! The team will be bringing together community, music, food, dance and traditions rooted in nature and folklore as they celebrate the change of the seasons and revel in the giddy spirit of May Day.

There’s a jam packed programme including live music on the Jack in the Green stage, a preserving workshop, Maypole dancing, art workshops, face painting and the traditional “Hal-an-Tow” May Day procession featuring a singing bush!
The day begins at 3pm with talks and workshops throughout, and if you think you might need a drink to get you in the mood for some Morris dancing then just head to the bar! Delicious hot food will be available all day from the MUD Kitchen and local favourites, Gwafu Vegan.
Tickets are available now on the MUD CIC website and are priced on a sliding scale with free tickets for children 0-12 years old.
Platt Fields Market Garden is run by Manchester Urban Diggers. The team at MUD create beautiful gardens in urban spaces where people grow, cook and eat delicious, healthy food together. These gardens are hubs for thriving, connected communities, havens for nature and visions of a fair and sustainable way to supply the food we need to be part of a fairer food system.
