Created by famous street artist AKSE P19, the mural was unveiled ahead of the pop-up café opening on site.

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks have unveiled a mural featuring lucky local pups in celebration of the grand opening of the brand new ‘Puppy Love’ pop up café – just in time to spend Valentine’s Day with your pooch!

Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet have teamed up with inspiring street artist AKSE P19 to create an original mural, celebrating the ‘paw-fect’ pooches of Cheshire.

The renowned Mancunian artist has created significant works including the famous Manchester portrait of Marcus Rashford, a multistorey mural of late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis for World Mental Health Day in 2020, tributes to David Bowie, George Floyd and Captain Sir Tom Moore.

The new commission for Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet saw local pups being nominated through a social media competition where several dogs won the opportunity to feature in the mural by the famous artist. The artwork was unveiled on Sunday 6th February, ahead of the grand opening of the new Puppy Love Café in Bakers & Baristas on 14th February.

Following data revealing that ‘73 percent of humans claim their canine companion is their soulmate’ Bakers & Baristas and The Original Dog Bakery have joined forces to create the ultimate doggy-date destination for Valentine’s Day.   Guests of the Centre will be able to stop by the Puppy Love Café, located within Bakers & Baristas, to celebrate their puppy love over a ‘hooman’ sweet treat and hot drink, with a puppicino and a doggie donut for your four-legged friend.

From 14th to 18th February visitors can bring their furry soul mate along to the Puppy Love Café and treat them to lovingly handmade patisserie style snacks, packed full of natural ingredients. Dog owners can choose from a mouthwatering selection of freshly baked cakes and a warming cup of tea or coffee.

“It’s no doubt that we are a nation of dog lovers, and here at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet we adore seeing all of the beautiful dogs brought into the Centre. We are delighted to be able to give visitors the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day out with their four-legged friend in tow, whether it’s admiring the brand-new mural by AKSE P19, or stopping off for a pup friendly pastry at the Puppy Love Café.” – Kenny Murray, General Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks

“The response to the Dog mural competition has been a great success, people have posted some fantastic photos of their canine soulmates, it’s really been fun to make this mural come to life.” – Akse P19, Street Artist

“We embrace all and every pooch and understand that they are an important member of many families.  With more and more families choosing to add a four-legged friend, we hope that offering this shared occasion will be a fun moment to enjoy at the time of celebrating love in its many forms.”  – Jo Garfoot-White, Head of UK Operations at Bakers + Baristas

The mural was unveiled at a launch event which took place on Sunday 6th Feb, with the six pups featuring in the mural invited down for the grand reveal. The Puppy Love Café will open on the 14th February.
